A new Commissioner General of Customs and other top government officials have been appointed.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made the important appointments on Monday.
The appointees were handed their Letters of Appointment during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday evening.
President Muizzu appointed Yoosuf Maniu Mohamed as the Commissioner General of Customs.
Maniu took his oath of office as the new Commissioner General of Customs before Supreme Court Justice Mahaz Ali Zahir.
The appointment was made at state ministerial level
Further, Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim received his Letter of Appointment as the new Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy at the ministerial level.
President Muizzu appointed four senior government officials at state ministerial level as well.
Mohamed Fahmy Hassan was appointed as a Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, with Ibrahim Amir being appointed as a Minister of State for Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.
The other two appointees are Fathimath Shamnaaz Ali Saleem as a State Minister at the Presidential Palace and Hassan Zareer as Commissioner of Prisons.
