Schools set the “best” example during the Covid-19 crisis, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new multi-purpose hall in Mohamed Jamaluddin School of Fuvahmulah City, the vice president noted that during the pandemic, schools had set the best example by adhering to the safety guidelines and rules set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) as a safeguard against the virus.
With this being said, VP Naseem applauded teachers nationwide and the Ministry of Education for their efforts in ensuring that students were provided uninterrupted education despite schools being closed in the face of the looming threats of coronavirus.
Further noting that work of schools nationwide did not come to a complete halt despite incoming state revenue having been hindered significantly due to the Covid-19 outbreak, VP Naseem stated that this was an important effort undertaken by the Solih administration.
VP Naseem highlighted that Maldives had set an example in managing the pandemic at time nearby countries were unable to curb the spread of Covid-19.
VP Naseem is currently on a tour of southernmost Fuvahmulah and Addu cities, accompanied by a high-level delegation. He departed to the south on Tuesday and is scheduled to conclude his four-day tour of the south and return to the capital city on Friday.
