House in Nadellaa razed by fire

A housefire in Nadellaa island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll has completely destroyed the residence.

Ali Niyaz, a member of the island’s council told RaajjeMV that the fire was reported at around 9:30 am on Friday.

A man and a 7-year-old relative of his had been inside when the fire originated but managed to exit before it spread.

The man said the house has two rooms, a kitchen, and living space and so it was difficult to determine where the fire had start as they exited.

Officers of the police from Thinadhoo island have arrived in Nadellaa to investigate the incident.
