Maldives wins top Indian Ocean prizes at World Travel Awards

Maldives has won four awards at the World Travel Awards 2020.
The island nation won the top awards in the Indian Ocean category, at the awards ceremony held earlier this month.
Maldives won the ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination 2020’, ‘India Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination 2020’, ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Cruise Destination 2020’ and ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2020’.
The Ministry of Tourism thanked it’s partners in the industry “for the succesful strides”.
Maldives was nominated for 10 awards.
Over the years, Maldives has secured several awards in various categories, including the World’s Leading Airport Resort, World’s Leading Beach Destination, World’s Leading Honeymoon Resort, World’s Most Romantic Resort and World’s Leading Luxury Island Resort in 2019.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognise the very best travel organisations in the world through a global vote by travel professionals.
