MIRA’s VaaruPay payments open through DhiraaguPay

The opportunity to settle Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA)’s VaaruPay payments through DhiraaguPay has been opened.

The service was launched by MIRA and the telecommunications provider on Sunday. The contract was signed by Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation Asma Shafeeu on behalf of MIRA and Chief Financial Officer Robin Wall on behalf of Dhiraagu.

MIRA introduced VaaruPay specifically for non-tax payments and is available on MIRA’s website as well as via mobile application.

Speaking during the ceremony to launch the service, Asma revealed that the service comes as part of MIRA’s efforts to pave efficiency for consumers.

She added that the newly introduced payment method will pave way for consumers to easily settle their payments, at a time a majority of consumers are opting for online transactions of recent and avoid the need to visit MIRA’s collection centers.

Asma expressed hope that more of such services will be introduced in the future to pave convenient, secure and reliable methods for consumers in collaboration with service providers.

Highlighting the cooperation provided by Dhiraagu to launch the service, Asma expressed gratitude to the telecom giant for the efforts.

As a permanent partner of MIRA, Dhiraagu takes joy in having introduces a secure and reliable service through DhiraaguPay, said Robin. He added that Dhiraagu will always explore and introduce new ways to enhance customers’ digital experience.

VaaruPay acts as a platform for consumers to settle vehicle annual fees, parking violations and traffic violations, company annual fees and fines, visa fees, vessel annual fees and fines, Zakat-al-mal payments as well as submission of GST Nil Returns.
