Tourist visa issued for a visitor
Maldives Immigration has tightened tourist visa control, due to increase in expatriates working in the country, after having entered on a tourist visa.
A statement released by the Immigration said that this number had increased and that this was against regulations.
Immigration Act’s clause 10 states that the tourist visa can only be used for vacations and holidays. If an individual overstays the given period, then both the expatriate and sponsor will be penalized.
