The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has salvaged a dinghy boat that capsized while being towed.
MNDF’s southern area coastguard squadron extended assistance in salvaging the sinking dinghy that capsized while being towed by “Best Line” boat, 16 nautical miles off southernmost Addu City.
The 22-foot dinghy capsized due to the stormy weather conditions, said MNDF.
The sea incident was reported to the authority at around 1:16am on Saturday.
The salvaged dinghy is now being towed to Addu City, said MNDF, who also reported that no injuries were recorded in the incident.
MNDF has urged caution following an increase in sea incidents. As such, five such incidents were reported in 24 hours.
