Covid-19: IGMH patients, staff who tested positive transferred to DH11

Staff members and patients at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) who tested positive for the global Covid-19 pandemic, have been transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital.

Media official at the state-run hospital told RaajjeMV that tests were conducted on some staff and patients after a 39-year-old cancer patient seeking treatment at the hospital, tested positive for the virus. The 39-year-old Indonesian patient, passed away on Thursday.

The hospital has since revealed that two patients who were seeking treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital as well as four staff members tested positive for the infection.

The coronavirus-stricken patients and staff have since been moved to the 11th floor of the adjacent hospital.

IGMH stated that all of them are in stable condition.

As a precautionary measure, IGMH has closed off the ICU and decided against admitting more patients at the unit. Another location has been allocated for ICU services since.
