91 Maldivians stranded in Indian due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was repatriated on Tuesday.
A special medical flight of the national airline arranged to carry Maldivian patients requiring advanced medical treatment to India, returned with the Maldivians stranded in the neighbouring nation on Tuesday.
While the flight landed at Velana International Airport in the morning, the national airline said that the 91 individuals were in India for medical treatment and stuck there due to the closing of borders and lockdown.
A number of Maldivians have been repatriated from various nations since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, and all returnees are quarantined for a 14-day period and tested, as part of the work to curb the spread of the disease.
