148 nationals of Thailand, stranded in the Maldives due to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) provoked lockdown, have been repatriated on Sunday.
The Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in the Maldives made the reveal via Twitter on Sunday morning, adding that they were repatriated via a chartered flight from the country’s national airline, Maldivian.
The consulate has revealed that the deadline to register for repatriation is the end of May 17 and alinkhas been provided to register.
In mid-April, the government also facilitated the evacuation of Thai national via the first of three repatriation flights. The second flight departed from the Velana International Airport (VIA) on May 5 with 131 Thai nationals.
The government has been facilitating the repatriation of several foreigner communities residing in the Maldives, including Indians, Bangladeshis, Koreans, Japanese, Sri Lankans and Pakistani nationals.
