Mohamed Solih, a long serving official at the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), has passed away.
He was 63.
Solih passed away on Monday morning, after being admitted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) the previous night. He is to have been ill for some time, and was taken to hospital after condition worsened.
MACL, where Solih was the deputy chief officer at the time of his death, said that they have “lost an expert and a treasure who will be missed and remembered forever”.
Solih began his career at MACL in 1978.
Parliament Speaker and former President, Mohamed Nasheed, also noted his contributions to the aviation industry, adding that Solih had "always supported [country's] reform work".
