The Covid-19 task force has revealed that over 1,000 contacts of positive patients have been identified thus far.
Speaking during Saturday night's routinely press briefing, Covid-19 spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed that contact tracing is ongoing and that thus far, authorities have identified a total of 1,943 contacts.
Up until 12:30am on Sunday, a total of 241 locations had been brought under monitoring over the entire nation.
This includes 31 shops and clinics as well as 22 islands.
With this being said, Mabrook revealed that the contacts of Patient 21 were also unpredictably high.
However, he noted that contact tracing has been made easier now due to the lockdown imposed by the government in the Greater Malé Region, after the first community transmission emerged on April 15.
