The wife of a Maldivian doctor, active in efforts against Covid-19 in the United Kingdom, has tested positive for the infectious disease.

Dr Mohamed Razeen - a Maldivian doctor who has been treating patients with Covid-19 in the United Kingdom - revealed via Facebook that him and his family had been in self-isolation since last Tuesday when his wife began exhibiting Covid-19 like symptoms. She is to have tested positive for coronavirus.

Noting that he had been working for two weeks up until then, the doctor stated that he himself has mild symptoms of the disease, adding that he is sure he "brought it home from work".

Further, he stated that their son has been home-schooled with both parents taking turns to do so, thus possibly exposing the child to infection over the past few days. Nevertheless, their son is doing well and has yet to show any symptoms, said Razeem.

Highlighting that he has home access to the server at work, Razeen revealed that he will continue to work from home through virtual telephone clinics.

Although the doctor revealed that his wife has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently doing better, he did not confirm whether he himself has the infection as well.
