Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said this its Twitter account was hacked on Sunday.
In a tweet posted, after regaining access to the account, IGMH said that it “strongly condemns the acts committed” after hack.
While it did not clarify on these acts, the hospital said that the matter is being investigated and that the necessary action will be taken.
IGMH did not reveal any further details.
The hack comes a day after the hospital urged caution over the spread of chickenpox and viral flu. While IGMH had also asked the public to refrain from going to the hospital unless absolutely necessary, there were reports that this was due to a Novel Coronavirus case.
However, Maldives is yet to confirm a coronavirus case and the country continues to strengthen measures to curb an outbreak.
