A travel clinic is set to be established in Maldives in the commencing week in order to provide consultation for arrivals from countries where the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic has reached.
Speaking at a panel discussion regarding the global epidemic, Dr. Nazla revealed this, adding that the clinic will be opened for arrivals from countries in which the fatal disease is wide-spreading.
A hotline has also been established for such arrivals and doctors at the panel discussions further revealed that screening services have been made available at all international ports and that thus far, 128,157 individuals have been screened thus far.
Flights from countries at-risk have been suspended as well, the first being China, where the epidemic began during December 2019.
Recently, the government banned arrivals from Iran and South Korea as well as worldwide cruise ships.
At the panel discussions, doctors went on to reveal that Maldivians as well as foreigners coming in from Iran and South Korea have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period.
Doctors at the panel discussion urged the public to reach the hotline 1676 to note concerns or make queries about the COVID-19.
