Bridge accident leaves 34-yo with broken arm

An accident on the Sinamalé Bridge has left a woman with a broken arm.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) received reports of the accident close to 08:30am on Friday, when two motorcycles on the way from capital city Malé to its suburbs Hulhumalé collided down the bridge.

Sources report that the accident occurred when one of the motorcycles halted on a side of the bridge and the other collided into it from behind.

The woman who had her arm broken in the accident was the 34-year-old rider that crashed into the motorcycle which stopped.

The 29-year-old rider on the other motorcycle did not attain any injuries, revealed police.

The woman is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

While police revealed that both vehicles attained damages, both riders were licensed to operate vehicles.
