The Bank of Maldives (BML) has made an MVR60,000 donation to local child rights' NGO, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).
During a special ceremony held at the head office of BML, CEO and Managing Director Tim Sawyer formally presented the donation of MVR 60,000 to ARC on behalf of the bank's employees.
ARC stated that the donation will be used to fund the various ongoing programs conducted by the organization to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children.
BML's CEO, Sawyer highlighted that the donation by the bank's staff seeks to support ARC's efforts in protecting children's rights. As such, he stated that aiding non-profit organizations is a type of honor.
Earlier this year, BML collaborated with Total Fitness Group (TfG) and held a fundraising event titled "BML Wow Kidz Run 2019". This fundraiser raised a total of MVR 105,250 which was donated to ARC's anti-bullying campaign “Beat Bullying”.
Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organization that advocates for the health, safety, education, and wellbeing of children all over the Maldives. The NGO has been active since December 2009.
