The Presidential Commission on Murders and Enforced Disappearances has declared the death of medical student and model, Raudha Athif, a suicide.

Raudha Athif, 21, who rose to fame following a photograph by a local photographer went viral and was known for her unique pair of aqua blue eyes, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her dorm room in her hostel of the Islamic Bank Medical College of Bangladesh in March 2017.

Bangladeshi authorities have previously ruled Raudha's death as a suicide based on the initial autopsy report but her family disputed the report, claiming that she was murdered. They began seeking assistance from Maldivian authorities in seeking out the cause of her death.

The commission launched a probe into Raudha’s death after her father appealed for investigations.

According to the investigative report by the commission, Raudha took her own life.

Reports state that her suicide was following a personal dispute with her boyfriend.
