Greater Malé Industrial Zone Limited (GMIZL) has signed on as the main sponsor of Fannu Expo 2019.
The sponsorship agreement was signed at a ceremony on Wednesday night, with GMIZL’s Managing Director Ibrahim Rasheed Aboobakur representing the company. State Minister Neeza Imad signed on behalf of the Economic Ministry.
The Fannu Expo 2019 is to be held from 22-28 November with a total of 250 stalls, simultaneously at Dharubaaruge and Kaalaafanu School.
The ministry said that there has been immense support for the expo, and that people from across the country are expected to visit.
The Fannu Expo is a government initiative, to promote skills and craftmanship work in Maldives and provide professional breakthroughs for individuals in such professions.
Participants can enroll in 77 different categories.
Top five most creative and innovative business ideas will be given an MVR one million loan through the ministry’s SME Finance Development Corporation’s scheme.
In addition, businesses that submit the most “creative and authentic” products will be given the opportunity to market their products at the new souvenir shop to be opened at Maldives’ main airport.
