Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the company has been receiving profits since July.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hassan Shah revealed via a routinely press briefing of their development projects, that while the company has been receiving plenty of profits since July, it has been going downhill the first six months of the year.
Shah went on to highlight the immense support received through the government in their work.
“As you all know, our finances were not stable since the Presidential Election last year. Since we took over, we had been going downhill until we reached mid-2019. However, we have been receiving profit, with immense support from the current government, in our work”MTCC CEO Shah
Although the company had carried out several projects during the Presidential Election, the company’s work had slowed down after the new government took over for the first few months.
Stating that the company’s work had slowed down or cut short for various reasons, Shah stated that one of them include dissatisfaction from island residents over how development projects in some islands were being carried out.
As such, they have since assured the public that their needs, concerns and requirements will be acknowledged and implemented when the company kick-starts the project in the near future.
Highlighting that the company has completed 17 projects so far this year, Shah said that never before in the company’s history has it received so many projects within such a short period.
Currently, the company is carrying out eight road development projects, which have been mobilized.
