As part of its efforts to expand its services across the nation, national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced self-service banking services in Haa Alif atoll.

Self-service banking ATM centers were established in Kelaa and Baarah, which allows individuals and businesses to deposit and transfer money on a 24/7 basis in addition to cash withdrawal facilities.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BML Tim Sawyer stated that these investments make financial services widely accessible in the region for businesses and economy of the atoll and that these centers will prove to be beneficial to the communities as well as the neighboring islands without having to travel to nearby branches.

With these new investments, the atoll currently has five functional ATM centers and bank branches in Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo and Dhidhdhoo.

While BML has so far established 45 self-service banking centers across the country with a nationwide network of 37 branches across 20 atolls, the bank also has 107 ATMs, 5,400 point of sale merchants, 277 agents and a full suite of digital banking services.
