After losing all the matches they played in the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG), Maldives National Basketball Team has been eliminated from the games.
In their last match, Maldives lost to Seychelles 90 – 55 points.
This was the match in which the Maldives team showed its best performance throughout the games.
During the first match against Reunion Island, Maldives lost 106 – 42 points while the second match was against Madagascar which Maldives lost 93 – 23 points.
Maldives coach revealed that the Maldives team’s active participation in the IOIG games have given them enough experience and have in turn prepared them better for the SABA Championship 2019, a basketball tournament organized by the South Asia Basketball Association where national teams in the region will compete.
Similarly, Maldives National Football Team was also eliminated earlier this week after a miserable defeat in all its matches.
