U-15 football team players kicked off squad over disciplinary issue
FAM confirmed this via a statement

Some players of the men’s junior national football team have been kicked off the squad over a disciplinary issue.

Football Association of Maldives (FAM) via a statement confirmed that it has investigated a video circulating on social media and decided to remove those involved in the matter.

FAM said that the investigation shows that the video was not from the ongoing UEFA Assist International Tournament currently going on in Addu City, but rather from a tournament held in Nepal in 2018.

However, it noted that some players from the current under-15 squad are seen in the video and that the disciplinary committee decided to remove them from the team.

The players have since been sent back to capital Malé City.

While the officials that traveled with the team to Nepal have also been criticized, FAM said that it has reminded those traveling with young teams to better monitor things.

FAM added that it will not tolerate such disciplinary issues.
