President Solih wished them success during their time in office

Newly appointed Ambassadors have on Sunday presented their Letters of Credence to Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

While the successive ceremonies were held at the President’s Office, they are Ambassador-designate of New Zealand Joanne Tyndall, Ambassador-designate of Australia David John Holly, Ambassador-designate of Malta Stephen Borg and Ambassador-designate of Bahrain to Maldives Abdulrahman Mohamed Al-Gaoud.

They each held discussions with President Solih about the bilateral relations their countries have with the Maldives.

All four newly appointed ambassadors expressed their eagerness to continue ongoing cooperation in fields of mutual benefits with their countries.

President’s Office revealed that President Solih had expressed his eagerness to actively engage with all international partners for the progress of the Maldives development agenda.

He also said that his foreign-policy pledge will be upheld on soliciting the friendship Maldives holds with all nations.

Thanking the government of all four countries for their participation in the upcoming Maldives Partnership Forum 2019, President Solih wished them success during their time in office. As they take up their new responsibilities, President Solih wished them well in fulfilling their duties, expressing his optimism that the friendship between Maldives and all four of their respective countries will prosper during their ambassadorial tenures.

Themed “Investing in a Resilient and Sustainable Maldives”, the forum will be the largest multilateral gathering held in the Maldives at Kurumba Maldives from 17 – 18 June.

It welcomes development partners from across the globe to pursue new avenues for positive collaboration, revealed the President’s Office.
