Maldives Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has departed to Switzerland on an official trip.

The minister will take part in the 72nd Session of the World Health Organization (WHO)'s World Health Assembly (WHA), which is to be held in Geneva.

The annual assembly is to take place from 20th to 28th May.

While the assembly is attended by delegations from all WHO member states, it determines the policies of the WHO.

The assembly focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the WHO’s Executive Board and they will be appointing the Director-General, reviewing and approving proposed program budgets as well as supervising financial policies during the session.
