Former Attorney General and President of the Presidential Inquiry Commission on Unresolved Deaths and Disappearances, Husnu Al Suood has revealed that he has always wanted to be a magistrate of an outlying island.
Suood, who has served as a prominent lawyer for a long time stated this on a live program on Raajje Television, adding that once the work of the inquiry commission is over, he will focus on writing and practicing law.
Although his current work is how it is, Suood said that he has always been eager to become a magistrate especially in Lhaviyani, Baa or Ari Atolls.
“I would especially like to hold that position in Olhuvelifushi of Lhaviyani atoll” said the prominent lawyer.
Suood, who also served as a Judge at the Civil Court, stated that he believes the full experience in the field will only be achieved once he has the chance to work in a lower court and that he believes he will learn more this way, as someone who is a law investigator and writer.
Also a former member of the National Human Rights Commission. Suood is one of the biggest advocators of reforming Judiciary in the Maldives.
