'Sick group' behind Lanka's bombings deserve rejection and condemnation: Maldives ex-pres.
Latest reports show that over 400 people have been reported injured and at least 130 have been killed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has condemned the terror attacks in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.

The former President expressed his grief over the “horrific” events in Sri Lanka, on 'Easter' Sunday.

Nasheed conveyed his prayers to those who have been affected, going on to write that whichever “sick” group or ideology was behind this deserves everybody’s “rejection” and “condemnation”.

Latest reports show that over 400 people have been reported injured and at least 140 have been killed after eight explosions went off in Sri Lanka.

Foreign news outlets report that a specific number of fatalities is not clear and that the bomber is yet to be apprehended. Lankan news outlets report that around nine foreigners were killed during the multiple explosions that were reported in about six locations in Sri Lanka including a church and two upscale hotels in Colombo and two other churches in Katana and in Negombo, north of Colombo.

Following the heinous attack, all schools in the country have been closed and security at the airport has also been reinforced.
