Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed has condemned the terror attacks in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.
Taking to twitter mere hours after the bombings were reported from several locations in Sri Lanka, President Solih expressed grief over the “horrific” events.
He went on to convey his heartfelt sympathies to all the families affected by the “cowardly” terror act.
During these difficult times, President Solih reaffirmed the Maldives solidarity with the government and the brotherly people of Sri Lanka and assured the Maldives commitment in its fight against terrorism.

On Easter Sunday, multiple explosions were reported in about six locations in Sri Lanka including a church and two upscale hotels in Colombo and two other churches in Katana and in Negombo, north of Colombo.
RaajjeMV understands that over 400 people have been reported injured and at least 130 have been killed according to foreign news outlets. While several foreign media are reporting different death rates, there has not been a specified number of fatalities.
However, RaajjeMV understands that the death rate reaches well over 100.
Several casualties have been reported with one tourist having been reported dead from the bombing at Colombo’s Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
While at least eight bombs went off, authorities are yet to apprehend the bombers, Sri Lankan journalists report.
