The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is to provide temporary shelter and food for the families affected in the fire that broke out inside Red Pearl in Galolhu-ward of capital city Malé early Wednesday.
The fire broke out on a staircase connecting the first and second floors close to 4am and officers of the Maldives National Defence Force were able to quell the fire at around 4:30am.
Three floors had been burned beyond use and have been vacated since.
While the house was left heavily damaged following the fire, seven individuals who were affected by the smoke were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A statement released by NDMA on Wednesday regarding the incident reads that the authority has been supporting the families affected by the fire since.
We responded to a fire incident that took place last night at G. Red Pearl, Malè. 7 people were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. We are supporting the families who were affected by the incident.

The authority has since arranged temporary accommodation and food for 10 people, including the seven who had received treatment for smoke inhalation.
The police service is now investigating the cause of the fire.
