Businesses support military operation to ease flooding in Malé
 
The Maldives National Defence received donations from several companies

A number of businesses have made donations to the state operation to address the impact of flooding in capital city Malé on Wednesday.

The Maldives National Defence received donations from the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Ameen Construction, Ooredoo Maldives, and Resort Constructions, as well as the Universal Group.

The state-run MWSC had donated 100 rubber boots while Ooredoo Maldives donated 40 of the same boots. Ameen Construction and Resort Construction had supplied water drainage pumps.

The Universal Group had donated cash of MVR 300,000 on Thursday, which Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi had received on behalf of the National Disaster Management Center.

Insurance company Alia Maldives had also donated water drainage pumps while Litus, a motorcycle distributor and workshop, has said that it will service vehicles damaged by the flooding free of charge.
