Chief Operating Officer of the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Abdul Razzaq Haleem has resigned from his post, days prior to the expiration of outgoing President Abdulla Yameen’s term.
Mohamed Nizar, President of the Privatization and Corporatization Board of the Maldives, revealed this via Twitter on Thursday morning. Haleem’s resignation is effective from Thursday onward.
Following Haleem’s resignation, the company’s Assistant CEO Rabih Mohamed will be managing the company until the appointment of a new COO, revealed Nizar.
PCB has accepted the resignation of Maldives Ports Limited's Chief Operating Officer Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem. He will be resigning on 15 November 2018. In his absence the company will be managed by Rabih Mohamed (Assistant CEO).

Haleem had held senior posts in Maldives Transports and Contracting Company (MTCC) as well as Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) during President Yameen’s five-year administration.
Many other leaders of state institutions and companies have resigned from their posts as President Yameen's term ends on Saturday, including Adil Moosa, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)’s Managing Director and Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
