Famed law practitioner and Member of Parliament for Kendhoo constituency, Ali Hussain has been suspended again.

The Department of Judicial Administration had revealed that MP Hussain’s suspension comes following an interview he gave to VNews in which he said that there is no verdict to be issued by Supreme Court in the case of the unseated MPs.

The department said that this statement goes against the regulations for law practitioners and thus, Hussain has been suspended for a period of five months starting Monday, as the department saw him unfit to practice law at courts and tribunals of the Maldives.

The lawyer has been summoned to the Supreme Court on a previous occasion as well and while he was suspended on separate occasions previously, he is a lawyer who points out discrepancies in the judiciary and practices law to amend them.

This comes at a time former Attorney General Husnu Al Suood has also been suspended for the span of four months following a tweet he had sent out, and an interview given to VNews.
