South Mahchangolhi MP Abdulla Sinan has claimed that senior activists of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) still have the rings that they brought in to commit electoral fraud.

The opposition-aligned MP tweeted that the activists are now being threatened to give false testimony to back President Abdulla Yameen’s Supreme Court case to nullify the election result, or risk losing their jobs.

The management of M7 Print, which had printed the ballot papers, has also revealed that many of their employees have been approached with bribes by the ruling party to give false testimony.

President Yameen’s attorneys have said that he decided to file the case at the Supreme Court after receiving numerous complaints regarding vote rigging at the election.
