The housing ministry has given out all the required number of tickets to accept applications for land in Hulhumale’ Phase II for Wednesday.
The ministry began issuing the tickets an hour after the required time of 9am, and concluded around 1pm.
While a total of 500 tickets are being given out each day, the ministry completed servicing the applicants with Tuesday’s tickets on Wednesday morning, at around 11am.
The government aims to sell 1,000 square feet per land in Hulhumale’ Phase II, with MVR 400 per square foot; the total cost of a piece of land being MVR 400,000.
The Anti-Corruption Commission ordered the housing ministry to halt its project right after the announcement on Sunday, since the government was asked to refrain from starting new projects during the transition of government. However, the commission later gave its approval.
