Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed will be returning to Maldives on Saturday.
Dr. Jameel’s office has confirmed that he is scheduled to return at 2pm.
The former Vice President has been living abroad since being impeached by President Abdulla Yameen’s administration.
Dr. Jameel also confirmed in a tweet that he will be returning on October 6.

Dr. Jameel has been acting as special advisor to Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim since joining the party.
Many exiled opposition leaders have been returning to Maldives since the opposition coalition’s presidential election win.
JP leader Qasim returned on Thursday night with party president Ali Waheed.
Former President and leader of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has announced that he will return to Maldives on November 1.
