Joint Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to place more focus on middle class businesses.
Speaking at a campaign event in Adh. Dhigurah on Friday, Solih said that the guesthouse businesses which began in Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s government is now flourishing.
Noting that Dhigurah also has guesthouses, Solih said that his administration will allow more opportunities for middle class businesses.
He also said that islands should have access to the latest technological developments and pledged to install ATMs in Dhigurah as well as develop the island’s school and health center.
He also pledged to expand and develop the Dhigurah harbor as well as begin development projects in Omadhoo, Dhigurah, Mandhoo, and Dhidhdhoo by establishing water supply and sewerage systems and developing coastal protection systems in islands affected by erosion.
