President Abdulla Yameen will be made to stand trial for his injustices given that presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih emerges victorious in September’s ballots, the Maldivian Democratic Party’s legal director has said.
Legal Director Hisaan Hussain said, speaking at a Joint Opposition rally in Foakaidhoo island of Shaviyani atoll on Tuesday night, that President Yameen’s injustices are apparent and he himself has been openly acknowledged them recently at campaign events.
Hisaan said that Maldivians will not accept ‘corruption and graft’, and that they desire a leader who takes a firm stand against such acts and guarantees justice for his people.
At the Joint Opposition rally, Hisaan said that the coalition’s presidential candidate has an intimate understanding of the current concerns of the Maldivian people and expressed her conviction that Solih will guarantee justice.
