Treetop Hospital, Hulhumalé’s famed USD 110 million tertiary medical facility, has increased national insurance Aasandha coverage for their consultation services.
The price of consultation for a Maldivian national at the hospital will now be MVR 325, down from MVR 525, with Aasandha coverage of MVR 200.
An official from the hospital confirmed this, adding that Aasandha coverage has also extended to the hospital’s pharmacy.
This out-patient consultation price is considered hefty and the hospital has been scrutinized as accommodating ‘only for the rich’ with critics expressing concern with Aasandha covering ‘luxury private care’ services at the company.
The hospital is owned by Tree Top Ventures, a venture between local business tycoons including Champa Brothers and resort-giant Crown Company.
