Authorities have begun tarring the road in Hulhumale’ that links to the bridge connecting to capital Male’ City.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) stated that the tarring process will be completed soon and that half of the road has already been tarred.

HDC did not specify an end date for the tarring process.

While coastal development is ongoing at the newly reclaimed land, HDC stated that the road’s pavement has already been built.

The link road, that will accommodate any type of vehicle, is being developed by China’s Hunan Construction Engineering for USD 24 million.

The tarring of the road in Male’ linking to the bridge has also begun and the part of the road on the eastern and southern side is to be expanded to 16 meters wide with four lanes.
