Friday’s 53rd Independence Day activities have been postponed to Saturday night.

This was confirmed in a tweet by the home ministry.

The ministry did not disclose the reason for postponing the Independence Day activities initially scheduled for Friday at 8:15pm.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is also set to hold a military parade on Saturday evening.
