Maldives' first KFC outlet to be opened on Monday

An outlet of the world-famous Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is to be opened in the capital city Male’ on Monday.

According to KFC Maldives' Facebook page, the outlet will officially be launched at 11am on Monday and the first 100 customers will win a special “KFC” t-shirt.

The outlet is located next to Pizza Hut in Male’ Square on Ameenee Magu.

While earlier reports indicated that the popular fast-food chain restaurant was to be opened in the pavilion in Rasfannu Beach, an outlet of a different chain had been opened there.

KFC, well-known for their wide range of fried chicken meals, is a fast-food restaurant chain established in many corners of the world and was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, an American businessman. More than 120 countries have outlets of the popular fast-food restaurant and there are over 20,000 outlets around the world currently. It is the second most popular fast-food chain after McDonalds.
