South-Galolhu constituency MP Ahmed Mahloof has claimed that the government had sent a representative to ‘make a deal’ with jailed Adhaalath Party leader, Sheikh Imran Abdulla.

He said this via twitter, adding the opposition leader’s alleged response to the representative, was, ‘it is better to remain in jail than to make any deals with President Yameen’.

In addition, noting that they can be thrown in jail at any time, Sheikh Imran urged all opposition leaders to be careful not to do anything that could discourage the people.

Earlier on Wednesday, Imran’s teenage daughters expressed support for their father saying that they remain with him ‘all the way’.

The Adhaalath Party leader was found guilty of terrorism and sentenced to 12 years in prison in February 2016, over his speech at the 2015 May Day rally.
