Guests have begun arriving in AA. Ukulhas for the third Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) congress.
1,184 guests have been invited for the main opposition party’s congress and they have begun arriving in the island after completing their registration on Friday.
Some of the guests arrived with MDP’s team earlier on Friday afternoon while most began officially arriving at 7pm with around 40 vessels.
MDP has estimated that around 600 to 800 guests will be coming to the island for the party congress and the total amount of people might be around 1,500 when taking into account the supporters and members from other parties.
Around 300 people in Ukulhas and 50 in Male’ have been involved in organizing the event.
Ukulhas has a huge MDP support base with the party winning large majorities in the island during elections.
