Bandos Island Resort and One & Only Reethirah Resort have won the first matches in the Inter Resort Volleyball Tournament.

Bandos Island Resort beat Meeru Island Resort & Spa in the first match of the tournament on Tuesday.

Bandos won the first set with 25-15 while Meeru won the second set 25-23. However, Bandos won the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-10.

Ahmed Abdul Kareem, jersey number 10, took the title of best player of the match.

The second match also in zone-1 saw an extraordinary performance by One & Only Reethirah Resort, which beat Kurumba Maldives in all three sets.

One & Only Reethirah won all three matches against Kurumba with scores 25-16, 25-18 and 25-17. Ali Mauroof, jersey number 4, of One & Only Reethirah, received the Man of the Match title.

Other teams from zone-1 include Four Seasons resort, Sheraton Maldives and Grand Park Kodhipparu.

Teams in zone-2 are Holiday Inn Kandooma, Velassaru Maldives, Jumeirah Vittaveli as well as Adhaaran Prestige Vaadhoo.

Zone-3 comprises of Niyama Private Islands and Kandimaa Maldives. Zone-4 comprises of W Maldives, Vilamendhoo Island Resort and Conrad Maldives. Zone-5 makes up Dusit Thani, Vakkaru Maldives along with Soneva Fushi.

While Anantara Kihavah had taken home the championship title after beating Soneva Fushi in 2017, it is not competing in this year's tournament.
