The Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Emilio Aguinaldo College of Medicine in the Philippines to pave way for scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students.
The agreement was signed between the Ministry and the College at a signing ceremony held at the Ministry premises on Monday where Education Minister Aishath Shiham signed on behalf of the Ministry and President of Emilio Aguinaldo College Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos signed on behalf of the college.
The agreement was signed for a period of five years, under which the Philippine College will grant a scholarship to one Maldivian medical student each year.
The Ministry stated that the scholarship comes with all costs covered, including free tuition, and that it will also introduce more scholarships with 10% discounts on tuition fees.
Under the scholarship, students can get an education starting from pre-med programs which will prepare them to enter into various professional degree and graduate school programs, such as degrees in Doctor of Medicine.
