President Abdulla Yameen has travelled to Maafushi as part of his campaign trip to three islands of Male' atoll.

According to the President’s office, the President initiated the Thulusdhoo harbor on Sunday morning and is currently in Maafushi where he has partaken in the ceremony held to mark the completion of the beach protection project in the island which according to sources cost the government MVR 15 billion.

The President’s Office said that the President is to head to Guraidhoo later on Sunday evening to inaugurate the water sanitation plant in the island.

According to sources, the President is to return to capital city Male’ on Sunday night.

Following the President’s visit, officers of the police service are active in all three islands.
