Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz and Commissioner General of Customs Mohamed Junaid have met to discuss ways in which Maldives Customs Service and Maldives Police Service can work together.
The police media officer said that the main topic that was discussed in this meeting was a procedure in which the illicit trade of drug trafficking can be brought to an end by the joint efforts of the two bodies.
Police Commissioner Nawaz and Commissioner General Junaid also deliberated on ways to further strengthen coordinated efforts at the border, tweeted Maldives Customs.

The media officer further said that this meeting was scheduled in order to congratulate the appointment of Junaid to the position of Commissioner General of Customs earlier in June.
Junaid's appointment to the position comes after former Commissioner General Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed's retirement.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Customs as well as high-ranking officers of the police service.
