President Yameen's manifesto is 'in a pile of rubbish', says MDP's vice
President Yameen has never had the support and admiration of the people
Nothing has been administered according to his manifesto thus far in his tenure, said Shifaz

Vice President of the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Mohamed Shifaz has said that the manifesto incumbent President Abdulla Yameen had assembled before assuming office 'is now in the pile of rubbish'.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s “Fala Surukhee” programme earlier this week, Shifaz said that the manifesto assembled for President Yameen’s campaign before assuming office is no longer in the President’s sight and that while his administration is coming to an end, not a single thing in his manifesto has been put into effect.

Shifaz further asserted that President Yameen never had the support and admiration of the people and that he assumed office with the help of several other’s tireless efforts.

The opposition VP added that President Yameen won the people’s consent in 2013 only by the virtue of his campaign manifesto.

The former parliamentarian said that the President no longer has the support of the people and that there are no political activities that the President can carry out anymore. Shifaz went on to say that although President Yameen delivers a manifesto before the Presidential Elections slated for September, there will be no one to accept Its credibility.

“His five-year tenure is almost at an end. The manifesto delivered to the homes of citizens are how in their piles of trash. The inactive can only talk about those who are active” said Shifaz.

Shifaz further highlighted that the joint opposition parties’ movement is proceeding affirmatively and their coalition is going strong.

Responding to allegations that the coalition has been compromised, the VP said that the purpose of all four opposition leaders in saving the nation from rock bottom is still the same and they will not work against each other, with the same purpose.
