Pres. Yameen is scared to compete with anyone in the election: Rozaina
Rozaina said that President Yameen hesitates to compete with Nasheed in the elections
With the current happenings the nation is observing, it is clear that a free and fair election is out of question.
Rozaina also chided PPM for not having the audacity to hold a party primary

Member of Parliament for Addu-Meedhoo constituency, Rozaina Adam has said that incumbent President Abdulla Yameen does not wish to have any opponents in the upcoming presidential elections, slated for September.

She said this while speaking at Monday night's rally held by the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), as part of their activities in former President Mohamed Nasheed's campaign for their upcoming primary election, Rozaina said that President Yameen is nervous to run against Nasheed, and that he does not wish to allow any other contestants in the elections.

Noting that last week, the Elections Commission had threatened MDP with dissolution if they were to allow Nasheed to contest in the primary, the MP said that 'it is clear that a free and fair election is out of question given the current situation in the country'.

Referring to their campaign name Jazeera Raees, or Island President, Rozaina said that an Island President 'is someone that cares for the well-being of the people, and checks on them, no matter where they are'.

Responding to the President Yameen's faction of the ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM), the MP noted that PPM 'did not even dare to hold primary ballots'.

Furthermore, Rozaina said that Nasheed can run for this year's presidential election as he is qualified to contest, adding that the Supreme Court ruling passed by the full bench on the 01st of February prove that he is not a criminal.
