Yellow alert issued over regions between Haa Alif and Laamu atolls
The yellow alert was issued from 10:00 p.m on Monday to 01:00 a.m on Tuesday.
MET further predicts swell waves throughout the country during high tide

The Maldives Meteorological Department (MET Office) has on Monday issued a yellow alert over regions between Haa Alif and Laamu atolls following predictions of heavy rainshowers, thunderstorms, rough seas and strong gusts of wind.

The yellow alert was issued from 10:00 p.m on Monday to 01:00 a.m on Tuesday.

The MET Office predicts heavy thunderstorms over northern and central atolls with light showers over the southern region.

Heavy squally showers with average strong winds of 30 - 40 miles per hour and gust winds of 50 miles per hour is expected according to the MET office.

MET Office further advices sea travellers in particular to take the necessary precautions following rough seas and strong gusts of wind in regions. Adding to not plan any excursions while the yellow alert has been issued to ensure the safety of travellers.

MET further predicts swell waves throughout the country during high tide.
